How often do you practice?

As of current, I just practice about 30 minutes to an hour a day, to prevent myself from burning out. I learned my lesson when I was in my 3rd year of playing piano. In an attempt to imitate a pianist that I looked up to, I practiced a Beethoven piece during the summer, spending about 6-7 hours a day on it. I did finish the piece, but I almost decided to quit after that (luckily, I stuck to playing).

If you really love to play the piano, I’d suggest to practice songs that you like, but also is way out of your level. That way, you’d improve your skills while enjoying practice (who wants to play drills over and over, right?). In addition, I believe it’s most beneficial if people who are really interested in playing piano has a good start with a teacher. Building a foundation is key.
